Catholic Women's League

The Catholic Women's League of Canada is a national service organization of women who are members of the Roman Catholic Church, and who work together to promote Catholic values and to carry out volunteer and charitable work.

The objects of the League shall be to unite Catholic women of Canada:

To achieve individual and collective spiritual development.
To promote the teachings of the Catholic church.
To exemplify the Christian ideal in home and family life.
To protect the sanctity of life.
To enhance the role of women in church and society.
To recognize the human dignity of all people everywhere.
To uphold and defend Christian education and values in the modern world.
To contribute to the understanding and growth of religious freedom, social justice, peace and harmony.

St. Timothy Catholic Women’s League (CWL) Offers 2024 Youth Awards Programs

We encourage all eligible students in our parish community to participate.

Mary Matthew Public Speaking Contest

- We invite Grade 7-8 children of our parish attending neighboring Catholic, public or private schools to enter the contest

-Date: Sunday, February 25 at 1 pm in the Church Hall

- The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd winners will receive prize awards and all applicants will receive a certificate of participation

- The deadline for the contest to Isabel Fan is Thursday, February 15, 2024.

Mary Dobell Pro-Life Essay and Poetry Contest

This contest supports and encourages an awareness and positive attitude toward a broad range of pro-life issues. We invite children and youth of our Parish attending neighboring Catholic, private, or public school to enter the contest.

- Intermediate Level - Open to Grades 7, 8 and 9 students

- Senior Level - Open to Grade 10, 11 and 12 students

- The 1st and 2nd winners will receive prize awards and all applicants will receive a certificate of participation.

- The deadline for essay and poetry submission to Isabel Fan is Thursday, February 1, 2024.

Jean McCann Service Award for Youth

Award is offered to confirmed Catholic youth (ages 15-18) in our Parish, who has displayed service to others, have been involved with the community and have used their talents by taking the gospel message seriously.

- The 1st and 2nd winners will receive prize awards and all applicants will receive a certificate of participation.

- The deadline for contest application submission to Isabel Fan is February 1, 2024.

St. Michael’s College Scholarship Award

The Toronto Diocesan Council of the Catholic Women’s League of Canada is offering a scholarship to St. Michael's College at University of Toronto. The value of this non-renewable scholarship is $3,000. This scholarship is open to any young woman who is of Catholic faith, completing her secondary education, and who has indicated on her application to the University of Toronto that St. Michael's College is her first college of choice. The applicant must be entering the Faculty of Arts and Science in one of the following areas of study: Commerce, Computer Science, Humanities and Social Sciences, or Sciences.
