Baptism is an essential sacrament and the door to all the other sacraments! In Baptism, all our sins washed away (original sin) and the Holy Spirit will take up residence in our soul, making us a new creature: a Child of God, a member of the Mystical Body of Christ, and a member of the Church!
THE FIRST STEP: Gathering Information
INFANTS AND CHILDREN UP TO SIX YEARS OLD
Congratulations on your decision to have your child baptized. The first step is to contact Gina and Victor Sosa by email: sttimbaptism@gmail.com so that they may gather the necessary information. This planning can begin before your child is born.
CHILDREN 8 YEARS OLD & UP
Children age 8 and up are offered a more extensive preparation through a process called Rite of Christian Initiation for Children (RCIC). For more information, contact Liberatta Pinto at: liberatta.pinto@gmail.com.
ADULTS
Adults who are seeking Baptism in the Catholic Church receive preparation through a process called the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA). Contact: Parish Office at sttimothyto@archtoronto.org
THE SECOND STEP: Baptism Preparation
In preparation of your child's baptism, we ask parents and godparents to attend a baptismal preparation session with members of the formation team in the parish. The session is held in-person, every second Saturday of the month, from 10am to 12pm in the Parish Hall. Click on the button below to complete a fillable PDF of required information. Save the PDF and send it to sttimothyto@archtoronto.org.
THE THIRD STEP: Celebration of Baptism
For children under the age of 7, our parish celebrates baptisms on a monthly schedule. Contact the parish to schedule your baptism date: sttimothyto@archtoronto.org or (416) 494-6526.
