First Reconciliation & First Holy Communion

St. Timothy FHC Group 2024

Welcome to our First Reconciliation & First Holy Communion web page!

We are now accepting registrations for children to receive their First Holy Communion in May 2027!

Please note that our sacramental prep program is open to parishioners of St. Timothy and those living within our parish boundaries.

First Reconciliation & First Holy Communion (FHC) are celebrated in Grade 2 (age 7/8) within the Archdiocese of Toronto.

Parish Boundary Schools

Students attending St. Timothy C.E.S. and Divine Mercy C.E.S. will receive their sacramental preparation in school. Our catechist will visit the classrooms twice each month from October to June to teach and prepare the children to receive the sacraments of reconciliation and first holy Communion. Parents, please note that regular attendance is a requirement in order to receive the sacraments.

Private, Public and Homeschool

Students in private, public and homeschool, will be required to attend classes in person at the parish twice each month. Classes will take place on Thursdays from 6 - 7 pm starting in October until June. Parents, please note that regular attendance is a requirement in order to receive the sacraments. Please check back in August for our class schedule.

Additional Faith Formation Opportunities for Children

All children ages 5 - 10 are warmly invited to participate in our Jesus Club where they can continue to grow in their faith through fun, engaging activies.

Families with children ages 5 - 10 are also encouraged to attend our 10:00 am Sunday Mass, where children are invited to take part in our Children's Liturgy Program, offering an age-appropriate reflection on the Sunday Mass readings.

Here's what you will need to register your child for our FHC Sacramental Prep Program:

  • Submit our online registration form (below)
  • Upload a copy of your child's Catholic baptismal certificate (even if your child was baptized at St. Timothy Catholic Church)
  • Submit the $60 program fee to the parish office

It will help us greatly if you can submit all these items by November 15, 2026, however, please still contact us if you miss this deadline.

Parent Requirement

Each parent is required to attend two Faith Formation programs - one in the fall and one in the winter. Details will be provided once you submit the online registration.
