Parish Staff

Fr. Galen Bank - Pastor
I am the fourth of five children and grew up on a farm in rural Saskatchewan. My post-secondary education was in Computer Aided Drafting and Design. I entered the seminary with the Companions of the Cross and in the fall of 1994 and on June 9th, 2001, I was ordained to the priesthood by Archbishop Marcel Gervais in Ottawa. Since my ordination, I was parish priest for ten years at St. Maurice Parish in Ottawa; served one year as Director of first year formation of seminarians; pastor of Blessed Sacrament in Ottawa for five years; served three years as Assistant to the General Superior; assigned Pastor of St. Timothy's on Valentine's Day 2020.

Fr. Brenton Cordeiro - Associate Pastor
I was born and raised in Goa, and I was fortunate to be able to also be ordained a priest in Goa in May 2021. After feeling a strong call to pursue the priesthood, and in particular to minister in North America, I quit my job as a reporter with Reuters News and moved halfway across the world to join the Companions of the Cross. It wasn’t an easy decision to let go of my comfortable ‘old life’, my career, or all the plans I had to become rich and famous and to travel the world. Nor was it easy to leave my family, everyone and everything I knew … or my homeland, where the temperature almost never drops below 60 degrees in the winter, to move to sub-zero temperatures and far more snowfall than I would like! But all of it has been worth it. For while my ‘old life’ was great, God is already showing me that He has even greater things in store for me.
Fr. Joshua Grandmaison - Associate Pastor
I am the fourth of nine children; I have five brothers and three sisters. We grew up in the blue-collar town of Sudbury, but lived most of our lives in Ottawa, where most of my immediate family lives. Before and after my conversion I worked in a family business installing inground pools, therefore I’m familiar with team dynamics, hard work and being part of a community that strives for excellence and a common goal. In the summer of 2007 after totaling my car and encountering the Lord’s loving mercy I began to take my Catholic faith more seriously and sought God’s preferential will for my life. This led me to discern religious life with Madonna House in Combermere, ON. Then attending St. Therese School of Faith and Mission in Bruno Saskatchewan for 2 years, then helping at my parish in Ottawa, studying philosophy at Dominican University and eventually ...

John M. Monteiro - Lay Pastoral Associate
I am originally from India. Worked as a Manager in multi-national shipping companies in the Middle East for nearly half of my life. I have been called by the Lord a few times. First, when I finished my secondary school education, I had a call and joined the seminary, but this was short-lived. Secondly, when I was in Dubai the Pastor tapped on my shoulder and said, “John you are a Lector from tomorrow”. Since I was involved in all the Ministries, including Secretary to the Pastoral Council till 2016. Thirdly, was at St. Timothy’s, when Fr. Roger initially asked me to help in the Church. I am a Lay Pastoral Associate at St. Tim’s from September 2017, assisting the Pastor and the Associate Pastor in many facets of the Parish, overall coordinator of all the Ministries, Volunteer screening coordinator, and serving the Lord, of course.
Lita Pulumbarit - Secretary
I was hired as St. Timothy’s Parish Secretary in November 2019, after my early retirement from one of the foreign banks in downtown Toronto where I held various functions in different areas; the last of which was to Lead the Canada-Credit Risk Management Services. My desire to have a daily routine, sense of purpose, and to connect with people but avoiding the long subway commute and stress of the corporate world, encouraged me to go back to the workforce. I completed my Bachelor of Science Degree in Commerce, major in Banking and Finance from the University of Santo Tomas, in Manila, Philippines. I have two grown and married children; and I am a proud grandma to four; 2 boys and 2 girls.

Ruth D'Souza - Youth Minister
I am the youngest of three siblings and was born in Bombay, India. We moved to Montreal when I was 9 and then a year later to Toronto and became parishioners of St. Timothy. At the end of high-school, I had an amazing retreat experience with NET (a Catholic organization that ministers to youth) and was invited to consider being a missionary myself. However, while I loved Jesus, I didn’t quite trust Him yet, so I declined. In the years that followed I attended school for theatre, earned a degree in music, traveled, and worked various jobs. In 2017, I committed my life to Jesus and pursuing Him above all else - best decision I ever made! He continues to transform my life daily, move mountains and fill me with hope and joy. In December 2021 I earned a B.Ed. from Tyndale University and in January 2022 I joyfully accepted the position of Youth Minister at St. Timothy.
Karl Hartman - Seminarian Intern
I am the second youngest of five boys, and was born and raised outside the rural town of St. Marys, Ontario. I am a seminarian with the Companions of the Cross, and am currently doing my pastoral internship here at St. Timothy. Before entering seminary, I served a year with NET Ministries of Canada (2013-14), was involved in local ministries, and worked in the family carpentry business. I enjoy working with my hands, landscape photography, sports (i.e. biking, hockey, soccer, volleyball), and visiting family and friends. Click below for more info.

Cecilia Chow - Bookkeeper
I joined St. Timothy’s Parish at the end of July 2020, as the Bookkeeper. I am the fifth of six children and attended an Anglican school in Hong Kong from grades 1-13. I was baptized in an evangelical church before I came to study at the University of Toronto. I have since converted to Catholicism in 2010. After my graduation from the University of Toronto, I was at PriceWaterhouseCoopers to work towards my C.A., C.P.A. designation. Subsequently, I worked in various positions in one of the Chartered Banks for almost thirty years before I took early retirement. The Pastor of my home Parish then asked me to help with their bookkeeping duties - that was over seven years ago. I am grateful to share my experience at St. Timothy’s Parish which is also close to home, and to support the Parish Team with secular functions.
