Christ Crucified in st Timothys

Confession

What an incredible gift from God...my sins forgiven!

  • Christ instituted this Sacrament in John 20:23: “Whose sins you forgive are forgiven them, and whose sins you retain are retained."
  • When we confess to God through a priest, it is psychologically healing to hear another person telling us that we are forgiven.
  • Our deepest sin is pride!  The remedy for pride is to admit we have offended God, others and that we need His mercy to start anew. Confession becomes a catalyst for humility.
  • Confession restores my baptismal innocence - our souls are made pure.
  • The Sacrament of Reconciliation restores my relationship with God.
