A Day of Recollection: Know How to Suffer and Be Stronger Than Suffering

The Evangelist Luke through Peter on Pentecost Day reveals what went on in the secret of Jesus’ heart as he hung agonizing on the cross. We will trace the theme of suffering in the Holy Scriptures and propose seven spiritual goods into which we can transform our suffering. We end with a reflection on Mary’s and Jesus’ suffering through the narration of the Evangelist Luke and present an example of a very holy woman who lived in our Archdiocese of Toronto, and who like Jesus, was stronger than suffering.
